GETTING THERE...
WHY NOT RIDE TO LOWTHER FROM PENIRTH! |
We have drawn you a cycling map and from Friday PM until the end of Sunday, a special cycle friendly route will be way-marked from Penrith (starting at the rail station) to the Lowther event village site, by-passing the busy A66. Please take care whilst riding and have a safe trip to Lowther!

By Rail

For those heading for the Lowther event village, Penrith mainline Station is a mere 5 miles from the site!
By Road
The UK's comprehensive network of motorways and 'A' roads means that Cumbria - The Lake District can easily be reached by car. Lowther is easily reached, 5 minutes from Junction 40 of the M6.
By Coach

By Sea
Ferries link Belfast and and Isle of Man to Lancaster (Heysham); Belfast and Dublin to Liverpool; and Northern Europe to Newcastle (North Shields). Road and public transport networks conveniently link these ports with Cumbria - The Lake District.
By Air
Cumbria - The Lake District is served by a number of airports. With direct rail services to the area, Manchester is the most convenient airport. However if you are hiring a car, Blackpool airport is just 40 minutes away and Newcastle, Glasgow and Liverpool airports are all within a two hour drive of the area.
